Justice Josephine Oyefeso also sentenced Elebiju to six months in prison for operating a boat without a licence. An Ondo state high court sitting in Akure has sentenced a 50-year-old welder, Ojo Daniyan, to death by hanging for causing the death of his wife, Daniyan Dorcas. Damiyan committed the offence on September 14, 2019, at lrese Road in Shagari Village, Akure. Four persons were on Wednesday evening, July 6, abducted on Oke Ako-Irele road in Ikole local government area of Ekiti state, with the kidnappers later demanding N20 million ransom. The man who shot former Japan prime minister, Shinzo Abe, to death, Tetsuya Yamagami, has told the police that he killed the 67-year-old man because of his alleged links with an organization. Abe was shot dead while speaking at a political campaign event on Friday morning, July 8, in the southern city of Nara. The heightened state of insecurity in the country reached a feverish peak when on July 5, terrorists from the Islamic State in West Africa Province, ISWAP, attacked the Kuje correctional facility for more than two hours unhindered and freeing over 600 inmates from the prison. At least two pupils have died while others passed out after they suffocated in their school bus in Aguda area of Lagos state on Friday, July 8. The driver of the school bus, Odunsa Mandala, was taking the pupils back to their homes after the close of the yet-to-be-identified school when the incident occurred.
