A consultant physiotherapist, Dr Chris Okafor, says the incidence of stroke has increased in the country due to the dwindling economy and the state of healthcare delivery. Okafor, who is a senior lecturer at the Department of Physiotherapy, University of Lagos, Akoka, spoke in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Lagos. Ethiopia has signed an agreement to build two geothermal power plants at a combined cost of $4 billion to be run by the country’s first privately-owned utility. The French lower house of parliament has approved a law that provides for the gradual abandonment of the exploration and production of oil, gas and coal by 2040, the Ecology Ministry of France said in a communique. Nigeria’s oil and gas revenues plunged from $54.5 billion in 2014 to $24.8 billion in 2015, while the country’s oil production fell from 798 million barrels in 2014 to 776 million barrels in 2015, the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI) has disclosed. The African Development Bank (AfDB) has said that it achieved a 100% investment in renewable energy in 2017, a development the organisation considers a major landmark in its commitment to clean energy and efficiency. A new hydrogen fuel cell bus was unveiled in Central Chinese City of Wuhan on Thursday, December 28, 2017. The 8.5-meter vehicle can carry 56 passengers and can run more than 450 kilometers on single refuel of hydrogen, which takes three to five minutes, said its developer, Wuhan Tiger Fuel Cell Vehicle Co.
