Remi Tinubu, the first lady, and Nana Shettima, the wife of the vice president, have visited the ailing veteran Nollywood actor, Zack Orji at the national hospital in Abuja.
They were at the hospital to meet the first baby of the year.
In the same vein, the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN has revealed that Orji is getting better.
The ailing thespian was hospitalized on Friday after collapsing in Abuja.
He was later seen in a viral video bedridden and seemingly writhing in pain.
Zack has reportedly been grappling with fatigue for weeks, rendering him unable to talk or move.
The AGN had earlier revealed that details about Orji’s health were still sketchy. The guild also assured the public that they would notify the public of any developments.
“It is true. He is currently in the hospital. They are running tests on him,” the AGN had said.
Abubakar Yakubu, the national secretary of the AGN, disclosed that the actor’s condition has improved.
“He is getting better now by God’s grace,” he said.
The Minister of Arts, Culture, and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, had called on Nigerians to rally behind Zack after revealing that he had undergone brain surgery on January 1, 2024.
Expressing sympathy for the veteran actor’s family, Musawa described him as a national asset and expressed confidence in his recovery.
She said, “God will heal him and he will be well. We will do all we can to support him. We solicit the collective prayers of Nigerians because he is like a part of our families. We have watched him entertain us and we see him as a national treasure. So the best we can do is to ensure that we support him to have the best treatment. We will reach out to other well-meaning Nigerians to support Zack Orji through prayers and other means available to ensure that he survives this ailment.
Zack who is also a director and film producer was appointed a director of performing arts for the presidential campaign council of the All Progressives Congress, APC in 2023.
